Many long hours went into making this beautiful
necklace with it's centerpiece being another magnificent
stone -- the inspiration for the piece -- cut by Charles
Bradley. The back of the setting for the stone was cut
from sterling silver and then small pieces of silver were
fused to the front and dipped in an oxide to blacken
sections, then partially wrapped around the stone to frame
it. Malachite chips were then strung onto beading wire and
a sterling clasp and catch were added to complete the
necklace.
Due to it's green color (the color of life), malacite
is believed to help a person heal and is thus seen as the
restorer of life. By wearing malachite , a person is
believed to be able to get rid of self-destructive
romantic tendencies and encourage true, pure love.
This would look stunning with a dark green velvet (or
black) evening gown but is equally attractive with a gold
turtleneck sweater. It is just big enough to fit around
the average neck with a little play in case you're a
little larger or you want to wear it with a
turtleneck-type sweater.
Charles Bradley's unusually cut stones, along with
Linda Sereda's unique settings, make this another
one-of-a-kind piece. As with all of the Signature
Collection, this piece bears a little sterling silver tag
with the artist's name, signifying that this is a
one-of-a-kind Sereda original.
